Did you attend the mandatory meeting? Check your email! Registration emails have been sent! I am so excited for this season and cannot wait!

 

If you missed our information meeting, do not worry. Priority registration is given to those who have signed the participation waiver and listened to all the fun details about run club. There are still a few spaces available! Please send me an email and I will arrange to meet you to go over the info and get the waiver signed.

 

Do you need to purchase new running shoes? Sports Basement is going to host a special shopping event for Alderwood families Saturday, February 4th! I will email out the custom coupons with our discount when I receive it!

Welcome to Alderwood Running Club!

 

This is our team information page. You must be registered in order to participate. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with this page as it will be the main source for any pertinent updates such as last minute practice cancellations due to inclement weather or other forces of nature.

Our program is designed to teach a healthy and active lifestyle, which includes regular exercise, good nutrition habits, and the positive aspects of healthy competition.  We will incorporate our OWLS school values while we train and work together as a team. Our main goal is for each student to run a "progressive marathon" in which they will run at least 25.2 miles during their practices/training with the final mile of their one mile race at the end of the program (KROC Race).


** You must be enrolled in Run Club in order to participate in the KROC Race **

 

 


Practice Times (Your child must be registered in order to participate)

Every Monday after school on the Alderwood field closest to the lunch tables.

1st-3rd grade: 2:25-2:55 pm

4th-6th grade: 2:50-3:20 pm

Kindergarten: 2:50-3:20 pm

 

**Please have your child wear appropriate athletic clothing and footwear to each practice. There are drinking fountains but it is also helpful to have their own water.

Feb 27: First day of practice

March 13: Timed Mile 1

March 27: Minimum day (Practice times all grades 1:15-1:45 pm)

April 3: No practice - spring break

April 17: Timed Mile 2

May 1: Last day of practice

May 5: Team Pasta Party at 5 pm

May 6: KROC one mile race

TBA: Award Ceremony
