Today was a fun game called Teepee’s and Tornadoes. One team knocked down cones and one team had to set them up. Some teams were really working on techniques & I was really impressed. The 4-6 grade had a little extra time for some sprint races. I was humbled and came in last…almost every time. But so much fun to run with the group!

Keep running your weekly mile on your own & stay hydrated!

Weekly nutritional challenge: Try to eat breakfast every day. It is easy for some people, but difficult for others. It starts your day with healthy fuel.

Our team potluck dinner is coming up! This is for our whole run club family, including runners, parents, siblings, family members. This is where you get all the race day information and pick up your runners race bib! If you are unable to attend, please email me to make arrangements to pick up your bib. I will not be available to hand out bibs on race day. This team dinner is a fun way to get pumped up for race day together. We hope you can make it. It is potluck style. We are offering Alderwood Run Club shorts for $15. These are optional. Click here if you would like to order: SHORTS.

** Welcome to Alderwood Run Club **

The Alderwood Owls Run Club is a ten week training and racing program for students who attend Alderwood Elementary School. The club will meet to train once a week after school (there will be no training sessions during the week of spring break or any holidays).

The training program will commence on February 26, 2024 and conclude April 29, 2024. The final one mile KROC race will be Saturday, May 4, 2024. The program is designed to teach a healthy and active lifestyle, which includes regular exercise, good nutrition habits, and the positive aspects of healthy competition. We will incorporate our school values while we train and work together as a team. Our main goal is for each student to run a “progressive marathon” in which they will run at least 25.2 miles during their practices/training with the final mile of their one mile KROC race at the end of the program. Students will average 1.5 miles at practice and 1 mile at home each week.
